First-Time Setup: Allow Camera & Microphone Access
The first time you log into Brevity and navigate to an Assignment, your browser will ask for permission to access your camera and microphone.
If you have denied access or accidentally clicked Block, your browser will remember that decision until you change it. In that case, when you enter the practice window you will see a pop up indicating you must grant access.

Note: You must reload the page after updating your permissions. If you have granted permissions but your speech is not being detected, ensure your default microphone matches your intended device.
Below are instructions by browser for granting permissions in Brevity.
Google Chrome
-
Click the settings icon in the address bar.
-
Find Camera and Microphone.
-
Change both to Allow.
-
Refresh the page.
You can also go to:
Settings → Privacy and Security → Site Settings → Camera / Microphone
Microsoft Edge
-
Click the 🔒 lock icon in the address bar.
-

If you're using a corporate device, additional security settings may block permissions. If permissions cannot be changed, try using Chrome instead.
