Guided Setup: Feature Overview

Use AI-powered intake to capture your personas, products, and sales motions and auto-generate a tailored Knowledgebase and Curriculum.

What is Guided Setup?

New to Brevity in February 2026, Guided Setup is an AI-powered setup flow that helps Org Admins quickly describe their organization’s sales world—company, products, personas, sales activities, objectives, and frameworks.

Once completed, your responses are used to automatically generate your Knowledgebase and you'll be directed into Curriculum, where you can choose to generate recommended courses and scenarios tailored to your entries.

Note: Guided Setup must be enabled by Brevity via a feature flag. When enabled, it is visible only to Org Admins.

Who can use Guided Setup?

  • Available to: Org Admins
  • Controlled by: Feature flag (enabled by Brevity)
  • Best time to use: During onboarding or any major go‑to‑market change (new product, new market, new team).

How Guided Setup works: Step-by-step

1. Start or resume a session

  1. Log in to Brevity as an Org Admin
  2. Go to the Guided Setup area (visible when the feature is enabled).
  3. Choose:
    • Start new session – to begin initial setup.
    • Resume session – to pick up where you left off.

You’ll be prompted to enter:

  • Company name
  • Company URL
  • Any additional context you want the AI to consider
  • Upload documents, video, or audio files to provide additional context on your products, buyer personas, etc.
    • For each file you attach you will be able to provide a description as additional context to the AI.

Click Begin research to start.

2. Work through the guided steps

You will be guided through a series of AI-assisted steps covering:

  1. Products – What you sell
  2. Sales roles – Who is selling (e.g., AEs, SDRs, CSMs)
  3. Personas / buying roles – Who you sell to
  4. Sales activities – Typical calls/meetings (discovery, demos, renewals, etc.)
  5. Objectives – What success looks like (pipeline, win rate, NRR, etc.)
  6. Sales frameworks / methodologies – e.g., MEDDIC, SPIN, Challenger, or your internal framework
  7. Knowledgebase generation – Final review and creation step

For most steps, you can:

  • Select from AI-suggested options based on your website and context
  • Modify or add your own entries (edit labels, add missing roles, products, etc.)

Ensuring these are specific and accurate is critical—this data drives your Knowledgebase and Curriculum.

3. Generate your Knowledgebase

When you reach the Knowledgebase step:

  1. Review the summary of what will be created (e.g., personas, products, frameworks, objections).
  2. Click Generate Knowledgebase.

The system will:

  • Create knowledgebase items across categories (personas, products, methodologies/frameworks, objections, etc.)
  • Show a count of items created per category
  • Save your session for future reference

When generation completes, click Save Knowledgebase Generation.

4. Move into Curriculum (next step in the flow)

After confirming Knowledgebase generation:

  • You’ll be redirected automatically to the Curriculum tab.
  • Your Curriculum Generation is in progress, within 1-2 minutes you will see course recommendations populate the Curriculum page.
  • Your Guided Setup is now complete.
  • The Curriculum view will show auto-suggested courses and scenarios based on:
    • Personas
    • Products
    • Challenges
    • Sales frameworks and activities you defined during the intake process.

From here, you can review, adjust, and publish curriculum to your teams.

Rewind your session, Retry, or use the chat to modify your inputs

If at any point you want to adjust your previous choices, you can Rewind your session by clicking on the step you'd like to return to, such as Buyer Personas or Products. This will discard your previous selections as each step builds on the last and any changes you make may change subsequent recommendations.

Want to give the AI a more specific selection to include or ask it to modify the current list of options? Use the chat to tell it what you're looking for. It will modify the options list for you to select.

If you want the AI to try again on its suggested selections, click the "Retry" button to get a new selection set.

Best practices for a high‑quality setup

  • Be specific, not generic
    • “CFO at mid-market SaaS company” is better than “executive.”
  • For more comprehensive recommendations, capture all core products / SKUs, not just the flagship.
  • For more targeted recommendations, narrow the list of products or personas to just a few.
  • Include your actual sales methodology or deal stages, even if it’s homegrown.

The richer your responses, the more relevant your Knowledgebase and Curriculum will be.

FAQs

  1. Who can access Guided Setup? The new Guided Setup tab is only visible to Org Admins and must be enabled by Brevity.

  2. Can I pause and resume a setup session later? Yes. You can resume a session at any time and pick up where you left off.

  3. What happens if I skip details or keep things generic? The system will still generate a Knowledgebase and Curriculum, but scenarios may be more generic and less aligned with your real customers and products.

  4. Can I change anything after finishing Guided Setup? Yes. You can always edit items in the Knowledgebase and adjust or regenerate Curriculum later.

  5. Can I do more than one session in Guided Setup? Yes. You can do as many sessions as you want. Note that while in Beta, each session will replace existing Knowledgebase items. Any courses that have already been generated will remain unchanged.
  6. Does Guided Setup affect existing customers or only new ones? While Guided Setup is particularly valuable during initial onboarding, existing customers can use it to refresh their Knowledgebase and Curriculum when launching new products or teams.
