Using the Knowledgebase to Power Curriculum and Role Plays
Centralize your personas, products, methodologies, and customer stories to drive relevant curricula and realistic AI role plays.
We’re currently transitioning our admin model from Team > Group to Organization > Team > Group, with admin roles becoming Organization Admin and Team Admin. As a result, some language in this article (for example, references to “Team” or “Group”) may not exactly match what you see in the product today. The underlying functionality described here remains the same, even if the labels and hierarchy in your app look slightly different while we complete this transition.
What is the Knowledgebase?
The Knowledgebase is your organization’s centralized repository of sales knowledge inside Brevity. It stores the structured information that powers:
- Auto-generated Curriculum (courses and scenarios)
- Scripts / context in role plays (especially in Scripts mode)
- Customer stories, objections, and FAQs for realistic practice
If you've completed Guided Setup, your Knowledgebase is pre-populated with items based on your entries. You can then refine and expand it with additional documents, media, and manual edits.
Why personas, methodologies, and products matter
For strong Curriculum and high-quality role plays, some categories are especially important:
- Personas / Buying roles
- Drives: who the rep is talking to in scenarios
- Impacts: questions asked, priorities, tone, objections
- Products / Solutions
- Drives: what is being pitched or explained
- Impacts: discovery questions, demos, value stories
- Sales methodologies / frameworks
- Drives: structure of conversations (e.g., qualification, discovery, closing)
- Impacts: how challenges and success criteria are framed
- Customer stories and use cases
- Drives: realistic examples and narratives in Scripts mode
- Impacts: how reps learn to tell stories that resonate with real customers
The more accurate and complete these are, the more Brevity can generate scenarios and scripts that reflect your real-world selling environment.
Accessing the Knowledgebase
- Log in as an Org Admin: https://app.brevitypitch.com/
- Go to the Repository (or equivalent area).
- Open the Knowledgebase tab.
You’ll see:
- Categories of knowledge (e.g., personas, products, objections, frameworks, etc.)
- Status indicators (e.g., green circles) showing which categories have at least one item
- A list of knowledge items within each category
Adding to the Knowledgebase
To add an item to the knowledgebase:

- Click Create New. The Knowledgebase Item Builder window appears.
- Select a category for the item.
- Enter a summary for the item. This summary appears in the Knowledgebase list and can help you identify each item.
- Enter details for the item. These details will be ingested by the AI to provide additional context for your role plays.
- Click Submit.

Adding more knowledge via upload
You can enrich the Knowledgebase by uploading additional assets.

Best practices for a high-impact Knowledgebase
- Regularly review and clean AI-generated items after Intake.
- Ensure each core persona and core product has:
- A clear summary
- Typical goals and challenges
- Relevant objections
- Upload real customer stories (case studies, win/loss notes, call transcripts) to improve scripts and scenarios.
- Maintain methodology and playbooks (discovery guides, qualification criteria) so courses reflect how you actually sell.
Scripts mode selection for an assignment in Role Play relies on your Knowledgebase. Scripts can be directly configured in a Context Milestone or will be generated by the AI. If available, script generation pulls from provided information in your Org's Knowledgebase.
If your Org has not yet completed Guided Setup or uploaded items to your Knowledgebase, it is recommended that Scripts mode remain off to prevent LLM hallucinations or inaccuracies.
FAQs
-
Who can see and edit the Knowledgebase? Only Org Admins can view and manage the Knowledgebase.
-
Do I have to use Guided Setup to populate the Knowledgebase? No. Guided Setup is the fastest way to get started, but you can also upload files, paste text, or manually add items at any time. Note that using Guided Setup will overwrite existing Knowledgebase items.
-
How does the Knowledgebase affect Curriculum? Curriculum generation uses Knowledgebase items—especially personas, products, objections, and frameworks—to design tailored scenarios.
-
What if I delete a knowledgebase item that was used in a course? Existing courses won’t automatically delete, but future generated content may no longer reference that item. Review and update affected courses as needed.
-
Can I restrict certain knowledge to specific teams? You can create Team-specific knowledgebase items by navigating to the Team environment. Note that at this time Guided Setup and file upload will only populate Knowledgebase items at the All Organization level. Work with your CSM on best practices.
