A multi-persona role play puts a rep in one conversation with **two or three AI personas at once**: both members of a couple, a physician and a clinical buyer, an economic buyer with a compliance reviewer. You turn it on per assignment or per training plan section, and you can give reps a choice of which group of personas to face. ### Before you start - **Multi-persona must be on for your organization.** If you don't see the **Multi-persona role play** checkbox, ask your Brevity CSM to turn on multi-persona role plays. Once it's on, it's available to every admin in your organization; each assignment or section still decides whether it uses it. - **The role play needs at least two personas.** The checkbox only appears when the course (or the training plan section) carries two or more personas. Add them on the course's **Personas** step first. - **Give every persona a voice and a generated prompt.** In a multi-persona session each persona speaks in its own voice and acts from its own prompt. A persona with no voice speaks in a default voice, and two personas without voices sound alike.   ### Turn it on for an assignment 1. Create or edit the assignment and go to the **Final Details** step. 2. Select **Multi-persona role play**. 3. Optional: under **Persona groups**, add the groups reps can choose from (see below). With no groups, reps face all of the course's personas together. 4. Save the assignment. Leave the checkbox cleared and reps practice with one persona at a time, as before. ### Turn it on for a training plan section 1. Open the training plan and open the section. 2. In the section's **Assignment Settings**, under **Advanced**, select **Multi-persona role play**. 3. Optional: under **Persona groups**, add groups built from the section's personas. Turn multi-persona on for a section that has a new context, or for a section no one has practiced yet. A section people have already practiced can keep running with one persona. ### Make it the default for a course On the course builder's **Review** step, turn on **Multi-persona role play by default**. New assignments of that course start as multi-persona role plays. Any assignment can still clear the checkbox on its **Final Details** step. ### Persona groups A persona group is a named set of the role play's personas. When an assignment has groups, the rep picks one before the session starts and faces only that group. Use groups to offer different rooms from one role play, for example "Easy: VP Sales" and "Hard: CFO + Legal". 1. Under **Persona groups**, select **Add group**. 2. Enter a **Group name**. If you leave it blank, the group is named after its personas. 3. Select the personas for the group. The counter shows how many you've picked: each group needs **at least two** and holds **up to three**. 4. Select **Save group**. Use the pencil and trash icons on a saved group to edit or delete it. ### How many personas - **Up to three personas join a session.** That's the default limit for every organization. If your scenario needs a different limit, ask your Brevity CSM. - **With no groups**, the session uses the role play's personas in order and stops at the limit. In a training plan section, the order is the section's persona order. - **Two suits most scenarios.** A couple, or a buyer plus one influencer, gives reps a different conversation without making turn-taking hard to follow. Use three for a committee where managing the room is the point. ### Writing personas that work well together - **Give each persona a different job.** A decision-maker plus a skeptic gives the rep more to work with than two personas who agree. - **Name them like people.** Reps address personas by name during the session, and the persona they name answers. "Dana Whitfield" is easier to say out loud than "Economic Buyer 2." - **Write milestones for the conversation.** Scoring covers the whole session, not each persona. ### What reps see Reps choose a group on the **Who are you talking to?** screen, or when they start the role play. During the session each persona speaks in its own voice and the current speaker is highlighted. If **AI video avatar** is on for the assignment and avatars are on for your organization, each persona shows a moving avatar face; otherwise each shows a still portrait. Reps can share their screen, and milestones update as they go. Afterward they get one score and a replay with the personas they faced and a transcript labeled by speaker. Each persona with a moving avatar uses avatar minutes, so a three-persona session uses them about three times as fast as a one-persona session. ### Limits - **English only.** Multi-persona role plays are supported in English-language sessions. - **No Pause & exit.** Reps can't pause a multi-persona session and come back to it later. - **One score per session.** There's no separate score for each persona. - **Not included:** phone role plays, several reps in one session, and personas that remember earlier sessions. - **Current voice setup required.** The checkbox appears only for organizations on Brevity's current voice setup. If you don't see it after multi-persona is turned on, ask your Brevity CSM. ### FAQ **Do existing role plays change when multi-persona is turned on?** No. A role play becomes multi-persona only when you select **Multi-persona role play** on its assignment, its training plan section, or its course default. **Do I have to create persona groups?** No. Without groups, reps face all of the role play's personas, up to three. **Can a rep choose which personas to face?** Yes, when the assignment has persona groups. The rep picks one group and faces only that group. **Can I reuse personas across role plays?** Yes. Personas are Repository items, so the same persona can appear in single-persona and multi-persona role plays. **What happens if the role play has more than three personas?** With groups, each group holds at most three. Without groups, the first three personas in order join and the rest sit out. **Why don't I see the Multi-persona role play checkbox?** Multi-persona isn't on for your organization yet, the course or section has fewer than two personas, or your organization isn't on the current voice setup.
