Didn’t Get the Invite or Verification Email
Quick Answer (TL;DR)
Most cases are resolved by:
Checking spam or filtered folders and confirming the invite was sent to the correct email address. If you used Google or LinkedIn SSO, make sure you signed up with your company email, not a personal one.
When This Happens
This usually happens when a user is invited to Brevity for the first time or is trying to verify a new account. It can also occur if the invite was sent to a different email address than the one used to sign up.
What You Might Notice
-
You never received an invite email
-
You can’t verify your account
-
Clicking “Resend invite” doesn’t seem to work
-
You can’t join your team even though you were invited
-
You’re prompted to create or pay for a new account
How to Fix It (Step-by-Step)
-
Check your Spam, Junk, and Promotions folders.
-
Search your inbox for emails from Brevity.
-
Confirm the invite was sent to the correct email address.
-
If you used Google or LinkedIn SSO, confirm which email was used to create your account.
-
If the email address is correct, ask your admin to resend the invite.
-
After receiving the email, open it and complete the verification or team-join flow.
Important Note About SSO (Google / LinkedIn)
When you sign up using Google or LinkedIn, Brevity creates your account using the email connected to that SSO provider.
-
This is often a personal email, not a company email.
-
Team invites are usually sent to company email addresses.
-
If these don’t match, the invite will not connect to your account.
Recommendation:
If you are joining your organization on Brevity, create or log into your account using your company email address.
What Not to Do
-
Do not create multiple accounts using different email addresses.
-
Do not continue signing up if you see a paywall — this usually means you’re not connected to the correct team.
-
Do not assume the invite failed without checking spam or filters first.
For Admins: How to Help a User Who Didn’t Get the Invite
If you are an admin helping a user:
-
Confirm the user’s email address is entered correctly (no typos).
-
Check whether the user is already listed in the team.
-
Resend the team invite from the admin dashboard.
-
Ask the user which email they used to sign up (especially if they used SSO).
-
If needed, remove the incorrect email and re-invite the user with their company email.
Tip:
If a user sees a paywall, they are almost always logged into the wrong account or workspace.
Why This Happens (Optional, High-Level)
Email invites can be filtered or blocked by inbox rules, or sent to a different email than the one used to create an account. Using SSO can also unintentionally create an account with a personal email, which prevents the invite from linking correctly.
