I Can't Find My Assignment

Quick Answer (TL;DR)

Most cases are resolved by: Click the Assignments tab, then check both Team and All Org assignments. Make sure the assignment is marked Open (not Closed). If you still don't see it, you may not be assigned yet—ask your admin to assign you.

When This Happens

You've been invited to Brevity or you know an assignment exists, but you can't locate it in the platform. You may see other assignments but not the one you need, or your screen appears empty.

What You Might Notice

  • The Assignments tab shows no assignments or only some assignments
  • You were told to practice a specific skill, but you can't find it
  • You see "All Org" assignments but not your team's assignments
  • A closed assignment appears, but open ones don't

How to Fix It

  1. Click the Assignments tab in the main navigation.
  2. Check the Team assignments section (assignments created for your specific team).
  3. Scroll down and check the All Org assignments section (assignments available to the entire organization).
  4. Look for assignments with an Open status. Closed assignments won't appear in your active list.
  5. Click into an Open assignment to confirm you can access the role play.

What Not to Do

  • Don't assume an assignment is missing if it shows a Closed status. Closed assignments are archived and can't be practiced.
  • Don't skip checking All Org assignments. Sometimes assignments are created at the organization level, not just your team level.

Why This Happens

Assignments in Brevity work like this: Team admins and org admins create assignments and choose who gets access. As a learner, you only see assignments that have been assigned to you. If you were recently invited to Brevity or added to a team, your admin may still be setting up your assignments. There's often a short delay between an invitation and assignment visibility.

If This Didn't Fix It

Please contact support if:

  • You checked both Team and All Org assignments and still see nothing after 24 hours
  • You believe you were assigned to a specific assignment but it's not appearing anywhere
  • You can see your teammates' assignments but not your own

  • The name of the assignment you're looking for
  • Your full name and email address
  • A screenshot showing the Assignments tab (if possible)
  • The date you were invited or told to complete the assignment
