Resolved -- Known Issue: Practice Session Disappears After Recording
Your session may be missing from history even after a successful upload.

Some users may complete a full practice conversation and see "video uploaded successfully," only to find the session missing from their conversation history. This issue has been resolved. Users on unstable networks may still be at risk — see guidance below.
Who Is Affected
- Learners using the AI-powered practice (OpenAI Realtime) feature
- More likely to occur for users experiencing network instability or browser warnings during their session
- Affects a small subset of users; most sessions complete successfully
What You Might Notice
- Practice session is visible immediately after recording, then disappears from history
- "Video uploaded successfully" confirmation appeared, but no session record remains
- Transcript and scoring results are not available
What's Happening (High-Level)
When a connection issue occurs between your browser and our backend during a practice session, conversation data — including your transcript and scoring — may not be received by our system. The system then incorrectly identifies the session as abandoned and removes it. The video upload is handled separately, which is why you may see the upload confirmation even when the session itself is not saved.
What To Do
If you notice any warnings about a slow or unstable connection during a session — even if the session appears to be completing normally — refresh your browser before starting your next session. This helps ensure your connection is stable and your session is saved correctly.
To reduce the likelihood of this occurring:
- Refresh your browser before starting a new practice session
- Resolve any camera or microphone permission prompts before beginning
- Avoid navigating away or switching tabs during the session
- If possible, use a wired connection or move to a more stable WiFi network
There is no way to recover a lost session after it occurs.
