What to share when you set up Brevity

Build your knowledge base in guided setup so Brevity can recommend your curriculum.

Step 1 of the Launch Hub, Build your knowledge base, opens guided setup in Agent Hub. Guided setup researches your company, asks you about how you sell, and builds your knowledge base. Brevity then generates your recommended curriculum from that knowledge base, and the courses, scenarios and scoring that follow all draw on it.

Before you start

  • Guided setup is available to org admins. You can open it from the Launch Hub or from Agent Hub in the navigation bar.
  • Guided setup is turned on for one organization at a time. If step 1 says "This is not turned on for your organization.", ask your Customer Success Manager to turn it on.
  • Set aside about 15 minutes. You can leave and resume an unfinished session later.

What to share

The minimum

Start with what a new rep learns first:

  • What you sell: the product, and the kind of company that buys it.
  • Who buys it: the job title of the person your reps talk to.
  • The objections reps hear most: the two or three reasons buyers give for not moving forward.

Example: Acme sells payroll software to mid-market HR teams. Buyers are HR directors, and the usual objection is the cost of switching.

This is enough for Brevity to build role plays where an HR director raises switching costs and the rep practices answering.

Required fields

The guided setup form requires two fields:

  • Company Name
  • Website URL. Brevity analyzes your website to find your products, services and more.

Put the minimum (who buys and the objections they raise) in Additional Context. The field is optional, but it is the only place on the form for what your website doesn't say.

Optional uploads

Under Reference Documents, attach any of these if you have them:

  • Your sales playbook
  • Your sales methodology or framework, such as MEDDIC, Challenger or one your company built
  • A product overview or pitch deck

The more your materials say about how your reps sell, the closer the scenarios match your real calls. You don't need all of them to finish setup.

How Brevity uses what you share

  • Knowledge base: Brevity combines your website, your answers and your documents into a knowledge base grouped by topic, such as products, buyer personas and common objections.
  • Curriculum: from the knowledge base, Brevity recommends a set of courses at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced difficulty. Each recommendation lists its conversation context, the personas reps talk to and the challenges they face.
  • Courses and scenarios: when you generate a course from a recommendation, Brevity writes its scenarios and AI buyer personas from the knowledge base.
  • Scoring: each scenario includes milestones that track the rep's progress through the conversation.

Step 1: Open guided setup

  1. On the Launch Hub, go to Build your knowledge base.
  2. Select Open. Guided setup opens.

You can also go to Agent Hub and select Quick Start.

If you started guided setup before, Resume Session? appears. Select Resume Session to continue where you left off, or Start Fresh to begin again.

Step 2: Fill in the start form

  1. Enter your Company Name. Brevity may suggest your website and a short description.
  2. Enter your Website URL.
  3. In Additional Context, describe who buys from you and the objections reps hear most.
  4. Optional: under Reference Documents, select Attach Documents. Choose files on the Select Existing tab, or add new ones on the Upload New tab.
  5. Optional: in Add Context to Your Files, tell Brevity what each file is and what to pay attention to.
  6. Select Begin Research.

Step 3: Answer the setup interview

Guided setup works through seven phases, shown under Progress: Products, Sales Roles, Personas, Sales Activities, Objectives, Framework and KB Generation.

In each phase, Brevity proposes options from its research.

  1. Select the options that match how your team sells.
  2. Use the chat to correct anything Brevity got wrong or to add details. If Brevity hasn't found your common objections, add them in the chat.
  3. To change an earlier answer, select a completed phase under Progress. Rewinding discards the selections you made after that phase.

To start over completely, select Restart Wizard.

Step 4: Review and save the knowledge base

When the interview ends, Knowledge Base Results lists each topic Brevity generated and the items in it.

  1. Expand a topic to check its items.
  2. Select Save Knowledge Base.
  3. Select Yes, Save Knowledge Base to confirm.

Saving replaces any knowledge base your organization already has. This can't be undone.

Step 5: Return to the Launch Hub

After the save, Brevity starts generating your recommended curriculum and returns you to the Launch Hub. Build your knowledge base is marked done once the curriculum has been generated. You can work on other steps while it builds.

If the curriculum takes longer than expected, the Launch Hub says so. You can keep waiting, select Run guided setup again, or select Build a course in Course Builder to continue without it.

Add more later

Run guided setup again to add new materials, such as a methodology you adopt later or an updated playbook. Include everything you want kept: saving replaces the existing knowledge base, and Brevity then generates the curriculum again.

Generating the curriculum again replaces every unlocked recommendation. A recommendation you have generated a course from is locked automatically. To keep any other recommendation, lock it on the Curriculum page first.

Frequently asked questions

Can I skip the website?
No. Website URL is required. If your website says little about how you sell, put that information in Additional Context or attach documents.

Do I need a sales playbook or methodology?
No. Uploads are optional. The minimum (what you sell, who buys it and the top objections) is enough to generate a curriculum.

What if research finds nothing?
Guided setup shows "We couldn't find enough to build your knowledge base." Select Start over and give more detail in Additional Context, or attach documents.

Can I leave in the middle?
Yes. When you return to guided setup, select Resume Session.

Who can run guided setup?
Org admins. Team admins and members don't see Agent Hub in the navigation bar or the Launch Hub.
