What's New: Due Dates & Notifications
Updated: July 2026
Over the last month we've shipped a series of Training Plan improvements focused on two things: managing large cohorts with less effort, and letting team admins help run their own people's plans. Here's a quick tour of what's new. Each section links to a more detailed article.
Change due dates in bulk
You no longer have to update deadlines one learner at a time. From a Training Plan's Analytics tab, filter the assignee list (by status — At-Risk, Overdue, Not Started — or by team), multi-select learners (including select-all), and set a new due date for the whole group in one action. You can clear a due date the same way.
The change is all-or-nothing (every selected learner gets the new date, or none do) and holds up across very large cohorts. Everyone affected is automatically notified of the new deadline — in-app and by email, showing the old and new dates. Learners who've already finished the plan aren't pinged.

Learners stay informed automatically
- When you change a single learner's due date, that learner is notified of the new deadline.
- Learners who've already finished a plan aren't notified about deadline changes.
- People who've been removed from your organization no longer receive Training Plan emails.
Delegate due-date management to team admins
Team admins can now manage Training Plan due dates for their own people — it's a separate permission (distinct from editing content) and is off by default, so an org admin turns it on if their team admins should manage deadlines. When enabled, a team admin can edit due dates only for the members they manage and do not gain access to editing Training Plan content.

At-risk and completion alerts now reach team admins
The Training Plan Admin Notifications (at-risk learner alerts, learner completion alerts, and the weekly summary digest) now go to both org admins and team admins. A team admin's copy is scoped to just their own team and assigned members, so it stays relevant and low-noise. Turn any of these alerts on to notify both.

Unassign a learner from a Training Plan
Admins can now remove someone already assigned to a Training Plan — for accidental assignments, role changes, or people who've left a team. From a Training Plan's Analytics tab, select the learners and choose Actions → Unassign (bulk or one at a time; you can uncheck them in the Assign modal too). This removes them from the plan's assignee list and analytics so they stop affecting completion numbers, and their prior progress is preserved.

FAQ
Do learners know when I change a due date? Yes — whether you change one learner or a whole group, affected learners are notified in-app and by email with the old and new dates. Learners who've finished the plan aren't pinged.
Can team admins change due dates? Only if an org admin turns on the due-date permission for them — it's off by default. When on, a team admin manages due dates for their own members.
What happens to a learner's history when I unassign them? They're removed from the plan's assignee list and analytics, and their prior progress is preserved.
