Getting Started with Your Training Plan
A guide for Members in Brevity to find and start their first training plan
Your manager has assigned you a Training Plan in Brevity — a structured practice program designed to help you build skills and confidence at your own pace. This article walks you through how to find it, what to do first, and how to pick up where you left off.
What Is a Training Plan?
A Training Plan is a guided practice program made up of Chapters and Sections. Each Section includes context about the scenario you'll be practicing, followed by an AI role play — a realistic conversation with an AI-powered buyer, client, or prospect.
You work through the plan in order. Each Section has a passing criteria — a score or number of attempts — that unlocks the next one when you meet it. Think of it less like a test and more like a practice rep: the goal is to get comfortable with the conversation, not to be perfect on the first try.
Finding Your Training Plan
- Log in to Brevity and navigate to the Training Plans tab.
- The My Training Plans tab will show everything assigned to you.
- Click into your the plan you want to begin to open it.

You'll see your full chapter and section outline, along with your progress so far. Sections that are ready for you to start will be unlocked — sections that require you to complete a prior step first will show what you need to do to open them.
Before you jump into practice, take a few minutes to read through the Chapter & Section Overview. Your admin may have included instructional content — a video, a PDF, or written context — that sets up the scenario and gives you what you need to practice effectively.
Performing Role Plays from Your Training Plan
After you've read through the Chapter & Section Overviews and understand the passing criteria, click the "Start Practice" button to begin your first role play.

This will take you to the Assignment window where you can read more about the scenario you'll practice, review any historical attempts, and start your practice.

Once you've finished your practice, you can choose to go right into another attempt or return to the Training Plan page.

Resuming Your Training Plan
Brevity keeps track of exactly where you are, so picking up where you left off is straightforward.
If you've already started a section's role play: You can jump back in two ways — either from the Training Plans tab by clicking into your plan and selecting the active section, or from the Assignments tab where your active practice sessions live. Both will show your attempt history and best score so you can see how close you are to passing.
If you've passed a section and are ready for the next one: Head back to your Training Plan page. Once you've met the passing criteria for a section, the next one will be unlocked and ready to start. Your Training Plan page is always your home base for knowing what's next.
💡 Not sure where you left off? Go to Training Plans → My Training Plans and click into your plan. Your progress is displayed section by section so you can see exactly what's complete, what's in progress, and what's coming up.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What's the difference between a Training Plan and an Assignment?
An Assignment is a single standalone practice session — one scenario, one role play. A Training Plan is a structured program made up of multiple practice sections, organized into chapters, with a defined order and passing criteria that guide you from one step to the next. If you've used Brevity before, you may have completed individual Assignments. A Training Plan takes that same practice experience and wraps it into a full learning path with a clear beginning, middle, and end. -
Do I have to complete sections in order?
Yes. Sections unlock sequentially as you meet the passing criteria for each one. This is intentional — each section builds on the last. -
What does passing criteria mean?
Each section has a minimum requirement to advance — usually a score threshold, a number of attempts, or both. You'll see the criteria displayed in the section before you start. Don't stress if you don't hit it on the first try — that's what practice is for. -
What if I want to keep practicing a section I've already passed?
You can. Depending on how your admin configured the plan, completed sections may stay open for additional practice even after you've moved on. Check your Training Plan page to see which sections are still available. -
Can I see my scores and attempt history?
Yes. Your attempt history and best score for each section are visible both in your Training Plan and in the Assignments tab. -
What if a section is locked and I think I should have access?
Check whether you've met the passing criteria for the previous section — that's the most common reason a section stays locked. If you believe there's an error, reach out to your manager or training administrator. -
I've never done an AI role play before — what should I expect?
You'll be having a live voice conversation with an AI persona — a simulated buyer, client, or prospect. The AI will respond naturally to what you say, so treat it like a real conversation. There's no script to follow. Just focus on the objective described in the section overview, and remember: the more you practice, the more natural it feels.
